Southwest Baptist University has been training nursing and medical professionals in the Springfield area for more than 40 years, and we are excited to partner with Drury University to provide their students access to a dual-degree program with world-class education through the SBU Mercy College of Health Professions. Drury University students pursuing a career in nursing have the opportunity to earn degrees from Drury and Southwest Baptist University. Our Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and RN to BSN programs will prepare you for a healthcare career with a higher purpose. Benefits to Drury students
Students will need to submit an online application to choose which SBU program(s) they want to enroll in. Drury students will need to contact their program advisor below to receive access to the application: Cindy Fiedler Other requirements include: A 2.5+ cumulative GPA is required. Admissions testing also may be required. Prerequisites, contact advising for details. Students can see details about SBU's tuition and fees on the Springfield Financial Aid page. Financial aid and payments will be made through Drury, and students will only need to submit their FAFSA to Drury for financial aid eligibility. Drury students will continue to pay all tuition costs for both Drury and SBU courses to Drury. Students can contact the SBU advisor Tami Glessner at tglessner@miyao2009.com for details. Students should contact Drury for cost details, or view financial aid details on Drury's website. You will then have the choice between the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts/Science in Health SciencesStudents who complete the entire BSN through SBU will receive a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Drury. Students who complete the ASN from SBU will earn a Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences from Drury. Associate of Science in NursingFor students who complete 39 credit hours of Nursing-specific coursework through SBU, all required courses in the Drury Fusion core curriculum, and 36 credit hours of upper-level courses through Drury. Bachelor of Science in NursingFor students who complete all required courses for the ASN program from SBU, in addition to 26 credit hours of upper-level Nursing coursework from SBU, and remaining required credits from Drury Fusion and other Drury courses. SBU Mercy College Springfield CampusSBU courses will be offered either online or on-site at our Springfield campus. The campus has two buildings located in south Springfield, off Fremont Avenue. The main office address and contact info is: 4431 S. Fremont The Hutchins Center for Nursing Education, which houses simulation labs and classroom space, is located at: 1265 E. Lark St. Drury students will have access to both spaces while part of the dual degree program. Student support services include a library and study space, meeting rooms, and a student lounge.
